Wightlink Ferries  Operate a car and passenger ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth crossing time 40 mins these operate from approximately 5.30am to 9-10pm at night

Wightlink Ferries Operate a Fast cat passenger only ferry from Portsmouth to ryde crossing time 22 mins these operate from approximately 5.30am to 11pm at night.

Red Funnel Operate a Red Jet passenger only service from Southampton to West Cowes crossing time 23-25 minutes these operate every half an hour from approximately 6am to Midnight.

 

Hovertravel Operate a passenger only service from Portsmouth (Southsea) to Ryde crossing time 10 mins from approximately 6.30am to 10pm

Operate a car and passenger ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne crossing time 45 mins these operate from approximately 3am to Midnight









Trains

South West Trains Operate a regular service from Ryde Pierhead to Shanklin via the towns of Ryde, Brading, Sandown and Lake, these are former London Underground electric trains which makes them very unique there is also an additional bus service which collects passengers from Shanklin and connects them to the town of Ventnor.

Buses

Southern Vectis run an extensive and regular services throughout the Island with main bus stations in Newport, Ryde, Shanklin and Yarmouth. They offer a number of ticket options including "Rover" and "Multi Day" tickets. Full details can be found on their website here Southern Vectis

Top Tips

If you are a Island resident or own a second home there consider buying a Wightlink Multilink pass 

There are various options but for an upfront payment of £264 (2017) this will give 5 return trips with a car and up to 7 passengers equivalent to under £53 per return trip.

If you travel by Red Funnel consider a Red Funnel Travel Card

There are various options but for a £1000 upfront payment ( Ticket costs deducted as used ) they give a 20% discount off all fares

If you travel by Hovercraft consider buying a yearly

Isle of Wight Tourist Card

for £25 this gives a 20% discount off of all travel plus a number of other useful discounts
